Who should attend?

While there is no screening or selective process to enroll in the program, the Service Advisor Training Seminar is geared for people in the auto business as well as those from other businesses who have an interest in becoming a Service Advisor.

This training is designed to cover all aspects of Service Advising for both independent auto repair facilities and new car dealerships and the principles apply to related fields as well such as Marine, RV and Motorcycles.

Completion of this seminar will not make you immediately employable as an Advisor, but it will familiarize you with the demands of the job and get you off to a good start.

Dave DeMontigny of Car People Agency has worked with dozens of shop owners, dealership Service Managers and other automotive professionals to put together a program designed to deliver the basic information needed for a new Service Advisor to succeed. Dave himself brings a lot of experience and knowledge to the program. In addition to placing automotive service professionals as a placement Counselor at Car People, Dave has owned and operated a successful seven store chain of independent repair shops. He knows what employers are looking for and has tailored this seminar to deliver it.

Finance and Insurance (F&I)

Temporarily Suspended
There is no screening or selective process to enroll in the program. The Finance and Insurance class is an intense five-day class meeting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. four times a year.

The class is geared towards assuring that participants become efficient, productive and profitable F&I managers for their dealerships whether they are relatively new to the auto industry or have many years of F&I experience. The fifth day of the class is roll-playing.

Curriculum includes a comprehensive presentation of every aspect of finance and insurance operations inclusive of the newest F&I techniques and procedures. A half-day session is dedicated to managing lender relationships.

The class is conducted by National Sales Trainers for American Financial and Automotive Services, one of the nation's top F&I training companies. Tuition is $565.

Note: The Shoreline CC Finance and Insurance class has been temporarily put on hold.

Salesperson Training

Salesperson Training - Automotive

Sales training is available from the PATC at individual dealerships. Cost per in-dealership training varies. Classes are taught on-site by American Financial and Automotive Services, one of the nation's top sales training companies. American Financial, in partnership with Puget Sound Automobile Dealers Association and Shoreline Community College has created special pricing for dealerships participating in this program.

Salesperson Training - Auto, RV, Marine and more...

The monthly Basic Training Seminar is a three-day "boot camp" seminar designed for new or experienced sales professionals and managers. Students can expect a challenging 24 hours of instruction with homework every night and exams every day. Using comprehensive training with one-on-one role playing situations defines why we are known as the "instructional" sales training company. Students and managers alike literally raise their expectations of what it means to be a true sales professional.

Title Clerk Training

The PATC offers Beginning and Intermediate Title Clerk Training. There is no screening or selective process to enroll in the program. The beginning class is geared towards new entry people unfamiliar with automotive dealership titling process. The intermediate class introduces graduates of the beginning class or individuals already doing basic automotive titling to the newest in state-of-the-art titling techniques.

Beginning Title Clerk classes meet Tuesday evenings from 7 - 9 p.m. for seven consecutive weeks. Intermediate Title Clerk classes meet Tuesday evenings from 7 - 9 p.m. for five consecutive weeks. The class is taught by Suzie Adle, Washington State Department of Licenses.

Tuition is $165 for each class.
